Goshen Bus Loading
Summer, 2004
OA Bus Loading Assignments
Chapters in Lodge #470 are asked each year to have people work one or two days on a weekend to help with bus loading and unloading of Scouts and Cubs going to Goshen Scout Camps. This service typically lasts from about 8:30am to noon Saturday and/or Sunday and is a great service for the camp. This year the schedule as set so far is:

| July 10 & 11 | Aquia, Powhatan and Rock Creek |
| July 17 & 18 | Benjamin Banneker, Colonial, Old Dominion and Sully |
| July 24 & 25 | Southern Maryland (West Shore, Zekiah), Paint Branch and Two Rivers (Tayac) |
| July 31 & Aug 1 | Chain Bridge, Geroge Mason, Occoquan |
| Aug 7 & 8 | Bull Run and Patuxent (Enterprise, Indian Creek) |
| Aug 14 & 15 | Appliachin Trail, Catoctin Mountain and Crossroads |

Directions to Bus Loading at Fairfax County Government Center, Fairfax, Virginia
12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax VA 20035 -- Mapquest
From I-66 West (driving from the Capital Beltway)
Go to Exit 55B (formerly Exit 15), onto the Fairfax County Parkway North (Route
7100)
Go .4 miles (4/10th of a mile) and turn RIGHT at the light onto Fair Lakes Parkway
East.
Go approximately 1.9 miles (Third traffic light) and turn right onto Monument
Drive. (NOTE: The second traffic light will be West Ox Road).)
Go .4 miles (4/10th of a mile) and at the second light turn RIGHT onto Government
Center Parkway. (The first traffic light is as you go over I-66.)
Go .1 miles (1/10th of a mile) and turn left at the first entrance on the left.
This will be on the left hand side of the parking lot.
Please watch for the Goshen signs indicating where to park!
From I-66 East (driving from Manassas)
Go to Exit 55B (formerly Exit 15), onto the Fairfax County Parkway North (Route

Go .8 miles (8/10th of a mile) and turn RIGHT at the light onto Fair Lakes Parkway
East.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
1. THOSE LEAVING FOR CAMP SHOULD ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 9:45 AM AS THE BUSES CANNOT BE MANIFESTED UNTIL EVERYONE ARRIVES!
2. THOSE COMING TO PICK UP FROM RETURNING TO CAMP SHOULD ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 10:15 AM.
1. Take Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway) to Interstate 66 West to the junction with Interstate 81 South.
2. Follow Interstate 81 South to exit 225 in Staunton, Virginia.
3. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto VA Rt. 275, headed west.
4. Continue on VA Rt. 250, headed west towards Churchville. Follow Rt. 250 into Churchville and turn left onto VA Rt. 42.
5. Follow VA Rt. 42 through Buffalo Gap and Craigsville, into Goshen, Virginia.
6. Turn left onto VA Rt. 39 and travel through Goshen.
7. Follow Rt. 39 approx. 1 mile from Goshen and turn left onto Millard Burke Memorial Highway, VA Rt. 601.
8. The entrance to camp is up on the left.
Note: total mileage to Goshen Scout Reservation from the Capital Beltway is
approx. 190 miles. Estimated drive time is 3.5 hours. Overnight accommodations
are available in nearby Lexington and Staunton, Virginia.
